AVWL Care: Increase Metabolism

AVWL Care: This is a combination of herbs that increase metabolism while reducing cravings and excessive appetite.
Ingredients: Herbal TincTract PlusTM of the highest quality, chemical-free, unsprayed Ayurvedic herbs: Triphala, Garcinia Cambodia, Gurmar, Guggulu, & Trikatu in a base of Kosher vegetable glycerine and distilled purified water.

Triphala: (Latin: Combination of Emblica Officinalis, Terminalia chebula and Terminalia bellirica)
Triphala is traditionally used for maintaining a healthy digestive tract. It is commonly taken for sluggishness, constipation, bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Acting to gently enkindle the digestive fire while removing excess toxins from the intestines, Triphala supports healthy digestion and proper elimination.
In conditions of excess weight, Triphala can be used as part of a weight balancing program that includes a healthy diet and exercise. Proper digestion and elimination are important factors in achieving long term success in maintaining an optimal body weight. Triphala also helps control overeating and food cravings by supplying the body with the full spectrum of natural tastes. By promoting healthy absorption and assimilation of nutrients, Triphala keeps the body feeling properly nourished and balanced.
Literally meaning ?three fruits?, Triphala is composed of the dried fruits of amalaki, bibhitaki and haritaki. The fruit contained in our Triphala is grown exclusively on certified organic farms. The fresh, ripe fruit is harvested at the optimal time using environmentally sustainable methods that are sensitive to the long term health of the trees and their surrounding ecosystems.

Contraindicated: in people with chronic liver or kidney disease, pregnant or nursing women, and people taking blood-thinning medication.

Garcinia: (Latin name: Garcinia Cambogia)
Studies indicate that HCA may assist in weight loss because of its ability to regulate metabolism.
Specifically, hydroxycitric acid is a competitive inhibitor of adenosine triphosphate-citrate. In the cytosol, ATP citrate lyase catalyzes the conversion of citrate and coenzyme A to oxaloacetate and acetyl coenzyme A (commonly referred to as acetyl CoA). Acetyl CoA is required for the synthesis of fatty acids, cholesterol and triglycerides.
Garcinia Cambogia is a fruit that contains (-) Hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which has shown positive results in weight loss efforts. The HCA in Garcinia affects the body's conversion of carbohydrates to fat. Carbohydrates are low in fat, but high in calories.
When they are ingested, they are broken down into sugar in the body. That sugar is used for energy, and stored in the liver and muscles. When those stores are full, the remaining sugar is converted into fat. HCA inhibits the enzyme that converts the extra sugar to fat so that the excess sugar is used for energy, not weight gain.
Garcinia Cambogia fills the glycogen stores in the liver and other tissues, which results in more efficient energy levels, fat burning & appetite suppression. Garcinia helps to regulate blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol and increases metabolism by encouraging the body to use stored for energy.

Contraindicated: in diabetic patients, subjects with Alzheimer?s syndrome or any otherdementia syndromes, and in pregnant and lactating women

Gurmar (Latin: Gymnema sylvestre)
Specific herb to increase insulin production in pancreas.
Helps to regulate blood glucose levels and enhance glucose tolerance.
It also helps normalise metabolism in the tissue responsible for digesting sweet, oily and heavy substances.
It can be used for both types 1 and 2 diabetes. Gurmar regulates the craving for sweet food and helps to reduce an excessive appetite.

CONTRA INDICATIONS
Not to be used by hypoglycemics. Caution in heart conditions as it can stimulate the heart. SAFETY
As Gurmar is hypoglycaemic patients on diabetic medication should monitor their blood sugar and medication accordingly.

Guggulu: (Latin: Commiphora mukul) Guggulu resin has a remarkable cholesterol controlling action. It is used in Ayurveda to literally scrape out toxic accumulations that aggravate vata and cause arthritis.
It reduces cholesterol (LDL) and prevents accumulation. It has a lekhana property that ?scrapes? deposits from the channels, joints and tissues.
Guggulu is a specific herb for obesity and excessive weight; this works via its pungency, lekhaniya property and ability to enhance thyroid function. It stimulates medas-dhatu-agni, which regulates fat metabolism.
Arthritis Anti-inflammatory activity and detoxifying action. Very good in kapha/vata types of arthritis to reduce pain and swelling.

CONTRA INDICATIONS: Acute kidney infections, excessive uterine bleeding, thyrotoxicosis. Not during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

SAFETY: Guggulipid is reported to reduce the effect of antihypertensives such as propanolol and diltiazem and so medication should be adjusted accordingly. Caution with hypoglycaemic medication.
