Triphala: (Latin: Combination of Emblica Officinalis, Terminalia chebula and Terminalia bellirica)
Triphala is traditionally used for maintaining a healthy digestive tract. It is commonly taken for sluggishness, constipation, bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Acting to gently enkindle the digestive fire while removing excess toxins from the intestines, Triphala supports healthy digestion and proper elimination. Garcinia: (Latin: Garcinia Cambogia)
Studies indicate that HCA may assist in weight loss because of its ability to regulate metabolism. Specifically, hydroxycitric acid is a competitive inhibitor of adenosine triphosphate-citrate. In the cytosol, ATP citrate lyase catalyzes the conversion of citrate and coenzyme A to oxaloacetate and acetyl coenzyme A (commonly referred to as acetyl CoA). Acetyl CoA is required for the synthesis of fatty acids, cholesterol and triglycerides. Garcinia Cambogia is a fruit that contains (-) Hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which has shown positive results in weight loss efforts. The HCA in Garcinia affects the body's conversion of carbohydrates to fat. Carbohydrates are low in fat, but high in calories. When they are ingested, they are broken down into sugar in the body. That sugar is used for energy, and stored in the liver and muscles. When those stores are full, the remaining sugar is converted into fat. HCA inhibits the enzyme that converts the extra sugar to fat so that the excess sugar is used for energy, not weight gain.
