Gurmar: (Latin: Gymnema sylvestre)
Specific herb to increase insulin production in pancreas. Helps to regulate blood glucose levels and enhance glucose tolerance. It also helps normalise metabolism in the tissue responsible for digesting sweet, oily and heavy substances. It can be used for both types 1 and 2 diabetes. Gurmar regulates the craving for sweet food and helps to reduce an excessive appetite.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Not to be used by hypoglycemics. Caution in heart conditions as it can stimulate the heart.
SAFETY: As Gurmar is hypoglycaemic patients on diabetic medication should monitor their blood sugar and medication accordingly.
Cinnamon: (Latin: Cinnamomum zeylanicum/cassia)
Clears mucus and encourages the circulation throughout the respiratory system. Helps digestion, can be useful in diarrhoea with loose and watery motions with undigested food in the stool. Cinnamon has an anti-fungal activity and may be used in Candida albicans and imbalanced intestinal flora. Helps Circulation Cold extremities, Raynauds syndrome, arthritis; Cinnamon stimulates and pushes circulation to the joints. Helps Urine, night time urination.
Its ability to penetrate deep into the tissues coupled with its sweet quality gives it an ability to nourish the reproductive system and treat infertility and male impotence.
