Brahmi: (Latin: Bacopa monniera)
Used for the nerves to aid recovery from exhaustion, stress and debility with aggravation of vata. Consider using in Parkinsons disease, alzheimers, dementia, ADHD, Asperger syndrome, autism, depression and drug addiction. Brahmi is very useful in skin conditions with an underlying nervous imbalance. It also benefits tension throughout the system helping to ease constipation from stress, relax muscle tightness and alleviate menstrual pain. It is commonly used to treat insomnia. SAFETY: No drug herb interactions are known but caution is advised with anti epileptic and anti depressant medication.*
Jatamansi: (Latin: Nardostachys grandiflora)
Used for nervous hysteria, nervousness, epilepsy, Parkinsons and insomnia. It both cools and nourishes a hot and exhausted nervous system; clears pitta, calms vata, reduces kapha. It enhances the intellect and induces mental clarity. Its penetrating quality is useful in clearing headaches and muzzy head syndrome.*
Ashwagandha: (Latin: Withania somnifera)
Used for Neurosis, insomnia, anxiety, hyper symptoms and ADHD. Very useful in all conditions caused by stress. Its tropism for the nervous system benefits multiple sclerosis. It both relaxes frayed nerves and tonifies the central nervous system to enhance tolerance to stress. It is a nourishing nevine as opposed to a heavy sedative.*
Guduchi: (Latin: Tinospora cordifolia)
Useful in repairing fibrosis and regenerating liver tissue. It also removes ama toxins from the system.
As it detoxifies it is support for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis. Can help blood sugar levels and support good digestion as the body heals.*
Shankapushpi, Shank pushpi, shankhpushpi: (Latin: Evolvolus alsinoides, Convolvolus pluricalis)
Treats disorders of the nervous.*
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Caution during pregnancy. High doses will cause nausea, colic and urinary problems.*
Caution In Pregnancy: Although traditionally used in India during pregnancy in very small amounts to strengthen the uterus and health of the mother and child its spasmolytic activity on the uterus has led certain quarters of western phytotherapy to restrict its use in pregnancy (see American herbal products associations botanical safety handbook).*
SAFETY: No drug herb interactions are known but caution with sedative, anti hypertensive and anti depressive medication. As with all our formulas, consult your health care practitioner before using products with any other medications. There are some theoretical interactions between Ashwagandha and immuno suppressant, thyroid, and some sedative medications but these are not evidence based. As Ashwagandha appears to have some hypoglycaemic activity in humans it is advisable to monitor blood glucose in susceptible individuals.*
